Why working with Sacco Mann is better than applying directly!

People who have worked with our specialist IP Recruitment Consultants at Sacco Mann will know the many benefits of having a Consultant in your corner during your job search but for those who haven’t and/or are perhaps sceptical I’m here to tell you why it’s in your best interest to work with Sacco Mann exclusively rather than applying for jobs directly.

Working with Sacco Mann need not be a ‘one off’ decision, it can be a professional, ongoing relationship that you can reap the rewards from throughout your career. A large number of the candidates we work with aren’t always actively exploring the market but welcome the networking opportunities we can offer – keeping in touch with you and letting you know about the best roles ahead of the competition! It’s often said that the best moves are made when you’re happy and not looking… establishing a relationship with a Sacco Mann Recruitment Consultant can keep you in the loop with what is going on in the market and avoid you missing an opportunity whilst you focus on your job. We offer career and salary advice and happily talk through the market and what other firms are up to. If you’re not ‘actively looking’ then you’re generally not scouring the job boards so just think of the positions you will be missing if you’ve not got a Consultant keeping an eye out for you.  Let us do our job – whilst you do yours!

Market intelligence/non biased advice

Our clients and candidates work with us because of our market intelligence. We’re here to talk to you about opportunities… warts, and all! We’ve often heard our candidates comment on how un-pushy we are… we want to find you the right job rather than any job! Whilst it’s important for firms and businesses to sell themselves in their online ads and during the interview process, it’s also important to have advice from an impartial industry specialist with an up-to-date overview of the whole market to give more context and talk through the pros and the cons. We can answer questions you might not feel comfortable to ask, talk about real life examples and generally provide far more objective detail than any job advert or employer sell will ever be able to do. It’s a small industry so rumour and hearsay happens… we will help you identify the fact from the fiction!

Due diligence is essential throughout the legal profession so why not give your job search the same level of care and consideration!? We have an excellent overview of what’s going on across the market, work to identify opportunities for you and, due to our strong client relationships, we can knock down barriers that may be preventing you from getting an interview and ensure your application lands in the right hands at the right time.

See what our reviews say: “Professional and impartial and gives great advice. I definitely felt she had my best interests at heart and I would recommend Sacco Mann to anyone looking for a new job in the legal sector”

Time saving

Looking for a job can sometimes feel like a full-time job… our role is to help ease that load. Yes we will spend time getting to know you, really understanding what you’re looking for and what makes you tick. Of course, we can’t do the interviews for you(!) but we will liaise with clients on your behalf, inform our clients of WHY they should consider you and seek out the best possible opportunities to match your skills. Our tailor made and bespoke recruitment service means we can seek out the opportunities that you’re really looking for and avoid trying to fit a square peg into a round hole!

When (hopefully) the interview requests come, working with one Consultancy exclusively can ensure that multiple interview processes run in tandem together, your diary isn’t overwhelmed, and your applications are all neatly tied up in one place with you at the centre able to make fully informed decisions with no pressure.  Let us handle your applications and all the admin surrounding them whilst you do what you do best!

Salary negotiation

Most people hate talking about money, it’s often the elephant in the room and usually a sizeable factor when considering a career move. Having a Recruitment Consultant ‘fighting your corner’ can take away feelings of worry, stress and anxiety around the pound sign chat!

We offer advice on how to handle questions regarding salary in interview settings, talk through accurate and sensible market data as well as our clients’ budgets and market intelligence from previous recruitment campaigns. More often than you’d think… we’ve already increased offer packages on your behalf before you even know an offer is being made!

When negotiating offers that have already been made, there are some risks that we need to make you aware of but within reason and with careful consideration we are able to handle these situations on your behalf getting you the best possible package.  We take care in understanding your expectations and pride ourselves in guiding our clients to put their best offers to you!

Inside info & knowledge of roles that are not yet advertised

We have longstanding and strong relationships with our many private practice and in-house clients. We know and have met hiring managers, we understand what they’re looking for, how they work and can help you prepare tailoring each interview to best suit the firm and the people you’re speaking with. With direct applications, it’s often a guessing game with minimal information about what to expect from each interview. Often during the recruitment process there can be exercises, tests and differing styles of interview – we give you the help and support to prepare for each scenario. We also have a thorough understanding of what’s in the pipeline for our clients’ recruitment needs… often you can be considered for roles that have not yet been advertised and therefore will not be competing with other candidates. Direct adverts are advertised across multiple job boards, websites and social media – think of how many other people are likely to see this if you are… and how much time the employer can spend with each application to provide the level of detail you need and deserve.

See what our reviews say: “I felt prepared, well informed and supported for each interview”

It’s also worth noting that you might see firms and businesses write in their advertisement ‘no agencies please’ this is a common deterrent for agencies who are not actively working with said firm and does not mean that you are unable to use a recruiter for your application, so long as they have an active instruction. Many clients have a PSL (preferred supplier list) in place and Sacco Mann are instructed on many of these roles. We work with almost all of the legal businesses across the UK and will always make it clear to you if we don’t. We’re here to help you and not hinder you! Our clients pay us to find people like you – they want our help and put their trust in us to deliver. It will never reflect badly on you, only prepare you better!

Head of Talent at EIP, Chris Ball says “In a nutshell, working with Sacco Mann makes my life easier! Their full-service IP recruitment offering ensures they have the capability and capacity to help our business whatever our recruitment needs.”

Sacco Mann will always name the client to you prior to gaining consent to share your CV. We take GDPR regulation seriously. If you are being contacted by a Recruitment Company who aren’t prepared to share the name of the client they are working with… walk away! Your job search is exactly that… YOURS and you should be fully informed and aware of who and where your career details are being shared.
